BAart: between Art and Barbera

Agliano Terme is a town renowned for its breathtaking views, as well as its past and present history. It was in the deconsecrated church of the Confraternity of San Michele that the year-round art project BAart was born. One curious fact about Agliano Terme is that a large community of Norwegians fell in love with the town and moved here. The Barbera Fish Festival celebrates this great love between Norway and Agliano by pairing Norwegian cod with Barbera d'Asti.

Discover BAart

This village is famous for its therapeutic thermal water, which was discovered by farmers at the end of the 18th century. It is so renowned that, in the early 20th century, it was sold in expensive bottles in pharmacies.

The sulphurous springs, which are renowned for their healing properties in the treatment of respiratory diseases, attract thousands of people to the modern thermal centre.

However, Agliano Terme is not just about healthy waters; it is also a land of great wines, most notably Barbera d'Asti.

Outdoor enthusiasts, on the other hand, can recharge their batteries by choosing from a variety of trails (including those suitable for less experienced hikers) winding through neat vineyards, offering majestic views of the Alps.

The Aqueduct Tower and the Barbera trail

Agliano Terme has been known since ancient times for its thermal waters with healing properties. The town preserves the Aqueduct Tower in Piazza Castello. One of the village's best vantage points, the tower offers views of vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see and the Alpine arc. You can also catch a glimpse of the splendid Barbera trail, which is popular with trekking and MTB enthusiasts.
