Barolo: the village of the King of Wines

Barolo, a charming village nestled in the Langhe hills, is world-renowned for its eponymous wine, often referred to as the King of Wines.  Every corner of the village has its own story to tell, and wineries, restaurants and museums celebrate this wine excellence. Although it is a village of only 700 inhabitants, it is much loved by tourists from all over the world, who come to experience its unique charm.

Discover Wi.Mu.

A visit to WiMu, the Wine Museum located in the Falletti Castle, is an unmissable experience. Designed by architect François Confino, this innovative museum space is more than just an exhibition.

It is a sensory and emotional journey exploring the deep bond between oenology, art, and culture.

Fans of trivia facts will also enjoy the Corkscrew Museum, which is home to a collection dedicated to tools and wine rituals.

The history of Barolo does not end here. There is another castle in Barolo, the Castello della Volta, that is shrouded in mystery. It is said that during a feast held by the Marquis Falletti in the 14th century, the ceiling suddenly collapsed, tragically punishing the nobles present. This legend lives on within the castle walls, fuelling the fascination surrounding this timeless place.

Last but not least is the Enoteca Regionale di Barolo, (Barolo's Regional Wine Shop), the home of the King of Wines, where you can taste over 120 wines from a variety of vintages and producers.
