Castiglione Falletto

An entrancing landscape

Wine, history and beauty: Castiglione Falletto

A landscape that charms with its beauty, where every corner tells the story of a land that has been rooted in the centuries.

This village, situated in the heart of the Langhe, offers unique evocative views. From its elevated position, visitors can glimpse the rolling hills, which stretch out like a green carpet embroidered with rows of vines.

Vineyards rolling like waves and embracing the land:  the fruit of a place that lives and breathes through the work of its inhabitants.

The Big Bench Project

We are in Castiglione Falletto, on a giant bench overlooking the hills. But what lies behind the Big Bench? It is a territorial marketing project by American designer Chris Bangle, who fell in love with the area and decided to design giant benches from which to admire the landscape. There are few requirements to build a Big Bench, one of which is that they must be made by local craftsmen. Once you sit on one of these benches, you will be overwhelmed by positive energy.

Discover the Big Bench Project

Castiglione Falletto is recognisable from afar thanks to its medieval castle, which dominates the landscape. As well as being a symbol of local history, the castle offers visitors a unique insight into the beauty of the Langhe hills and spectacular views of the area.

This is a must for lovers of the great wines of Piedmont, as it is one of the municipalities of Barolo where there are many opportunities to taste the "king of wines", perhaps after a pleasant walk through the vineyards and a visit to the cellars.

Under the guidance of expert oenologists and sommeliers, you will discover why it is so successful.

The Village and the Municipal Cellar

Castiglione Falletto, a village in the Langa del Barolo, has been through several eras: originally Roman, then it was a medieval feud of the Marquisate of Saluzzo who gave it to the Marquis Falletti of Alba. It was the latter who built the castle, which was later transformed from a fortress into a noble residence. Another of the village's landmarks is the Cantina Comunale (Municipal Cellar), a veritable treasure chest of tradition and passion. It is here that the area's wines are valued and treasured. Treat yourself to a glass of wine on the terrace and enjoy the great wines of Castiglione Falletto while taking in the view of the surrounding hills.
