Monforte d'Alba is home to the Bottari Lattes Foundation, established in 2009. The Foundation's aim is to promote the work of Mario Lattes, a writer, painter and publisher from Piedmont who gained international renown. Visitors can admire the artist's original paintings in the collection, and there are also large collections of books. Every corner of this wonderful space holds a surprise; one of the best is the panoramic terrace with views of one of Italy's most Beautiful Villages.
Monforte d'Alba is a charming medieval village nestled in the heart of the Langhe region. Perched on rolling hills, it offers one of the most evocative views in the area.
The bell tower, a mighty Romanesque structure representing the only remaining piece of the pre-existing medieval church, overlooks the old town centre.
However, the real beating heart of the village is the village square, which has been transformed into an open-air auditorium. This “natural living room” is a place of extraordinary beauty and charm. Named after the pianist Artur Horszowski, who opened it in 1986, the auditorium has become a must-visit destination for music, culture and wine lovers.
